Red Delicious apples were born at the end of the 1800s in Iowa, in the United States of America. They have a bright red colour, tending towards dark red with maturation, while the taste is sweet and intense, the pulp is juicy and floury and rich in fructose. They also contain good amounts of vitamins A, B1, B2 and C, and very little fat.
Apples keep for a long time if kept in a cool place or in the refrigerator: it is advisable to remove the apples from the packaging in order to maintain their crunchiness and fragrance.
