OLD CAPE BITTER

The bittersweet taste of oranges, the delicacy of orange blossom and chamomile, the intensity of licorice, peppermint and aniseed are mixed in a single, inimitable secret recipe, which gives it its typical warm and amber color and its unmistakable gentle and aromatic taste, which has always been a sincere expression of authenticity.

This famous Calabrian herbal distillate should be enjoyed mainly neat, at the end of a meal, as a classic "coffee killer", and it is now a ritual to always keep it in the freezer at -20°C, so as to savor it rigorously frozen to enhance its taste and freshness .

However, it can also be sipped in coffee or tonic water, and from many other combinations excellent aromatic cocktails can come out. Like the Capo Tonic, fresh, sparkling and easy to prepare, the ideal accompaniment to warm summer evenings. To prepare it, pour 4 cl of Vecchio Amaro del Capo into a wine glass, add 10 cl of bergamot tonic and 1 cl of lime juice. At this point you just have to mix everything well and decorate with a slice of lime. Another drink rich in the aroma and scent of citrus fruits is Nothing But Net. To make it, pour 3 cl of Vecchio Amaro del Capo, 1.5 cl of Ferro China, 1.5 cl of Vermouth Rosso into a shaker with ice , 1 cl of sugar syrup and 1 cl of lemon juice. Shake well and strain the mixture into a tall glass with ice. At this point, fill the glass with 6 cl of tonic water and decorate with a slice of lemon and a few mint leaves.
